Don’t Call Me Crazy is a documentary series which rakes a look at a range of mental health issues affecting young people in the country today, ranging from schizophrenia, OCD, eating disorders and self-harming to dealing with family members affected by mental illness. The cameras have access inside The McGuinness Unit in Manchester which is of the largest teenage mental health inpatient units in the country.

Beth has recently arrived at the McGuinness Unit and loves dancing and gymnastics. Appearances can be deceptive though as Beth is suffering with depression, self-harms and has an eating disorder. The staff are forced to take drastic action as her relationship with food gets worse.

After tracking her down, Nicky visits her family to tell them about Alan’s search and Alan’s mum reveals that she has never stopped thinking about Alan. There is an emotional moment when they are all finally reunited. Susan Udy is looking for her daughter who she gave up for adoption when she was 21. For nearly fifty years she has carried the pain ang guilt of giving her up and has held onto the hope that she would one day be reunited with her daughter. The show manages to trace Kerry, learning that her name had been changed to Andrea. Nicky pays her a visit at her home in Bristol, just a few miles from the hospital in which she was born. The cameras follow Susan and Andrea when they are finally reunited.
