“The Biggest Loser” returns with 15 inspiring contestants – including the show’s first celebrity player, Ruben Studdard, an uplifting “Second Chances” theme and powerful new roles for trainers Bob Harper, Jillian Michaels and Dolvett Quince. For the first time ever in the show’s history, trainers sat in on casting sessions and helped select the new contestants, and also received a “trainer save,” allowing each one to save one eliminated contestant from going home. Contestants eager for a second chance to reclaim their health and re-write their futures include “American Idol” winner Ruben Studdard, this season’s heaviest contestant at 462 pounds, David Brown, who lost his first wife to an almost decade-long battle with cancer and is now fighting for his life so he can be there for his daughters, and Tanya Winfield, a single mom addicted to food who grew up with a teenage mom addicted to drugs, who is eager to break the cycle of addiction in her family. Also competing this season will be Olympic weight lifter Holley Mangold, hoping to get in the best shape possible for a second chance at gold in the 2016 Olympics, and Matt Hooper, who postponed his wedding to be on the show so he could give his fiancé the best physical version of himself. The “battle rounds” continue and the coaches enlist the help of the music industry’s top recording artists to offer their knowledge and skills as advisers. Adam Levine teams up with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Blake Shelton with Cher, CeeLo Green with Miguel and Christina Aguilera with Ed Sheeran. In this phase, the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest, and has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach. Each coach has two steals during the battle rounds where their artists will proceed to the new knockout rounds.

In the early morning hours of January 24, 1988, 49-year-old mother of six Isabel Cordle fell asleep on her couch watching TV. Sometime before 6:00 A.M., someone sneaked up on her while she slept and hit her on the head with a hatchet four times. She died on the couch, never waking from her slumber. Her husband found her the next morning as he prepared to go to work and called 911. When the police arrived, Isabel’s husband and three of her children were upstairs, scared and confused. Police not only found trails of blood, they also found what could have been the murder weapon: a hatchet, propped up on a tree outside, right by the door. Why would the murderer leave the hatchet in plain sight? Were they trying to set someone up? Or did the murderer leave it there and then run back in the house?
